World Sight Day 2016

“Our mission is to provide optical attention and care to the most vulnerable families and so help improve both their sight and quality of life”

Etnia Barcelona Foundation was established last January. In the short time our foundation has existed, we have already worked on several major projects, all related to Visual Health (our particular area of expertise), under the general umbrella of education, health and social development.

Our projects so far.

WE LOOKING INTO YOUR EYES

We started giving eye tests at the Open Centres of Catalonia, in the town of Viladecans and the Barcelona Raval District. In total we tested the eyes of 128 children and found 50 who needed and were fitted with prescription glasses. We will be doing the same in November in the Barcelona La Mina District where 120 children await us. One of the main goals of the Open Centres of Catalonia is to help minors at risk in order to favour their personal development and social integration. More info here

At Etnia Barcelona Foundation we continue our endeavour to increase public awareness of issues around blindness and impaired vision as an international public health concern and seek to educate our target populations about how to prevent blindness and generate support for the activities of the Foundation.
