Getaway to Les Vinyes

Cultivating Olive Trees

On Saturday, 2nd April, we went to spend a day out with the family in “Mas Les Vinyes” with a goal: to transplant the olive trees that we had planted during our Christmas lunch in order to launch our new foundation project.

“Les Vinyes” is a self-sufficient farm project of 25 hectares that follows permaculture and biodynamic agriculture criteria. The main building dating from the 18th century is located in the municipal district of San Martí d’Albars in Lluçanès (between Vic and Berga).   It is the perfect place to de-stress and to connect with nature.

After transplanting the olive trees that we had been looking after for the past few months, we took advantage of the day out to learn about the “Mas Les Vinyes” project.

We had the opportunity to taste all the local products such as ‘calçots’ spring onions which we picked directly from the land for subsequent grilling on the barbecue, a selection of ecological grilled meat and a tasting of local cheeses that Sergi and Ariadna, owners and magnificent hosts of Mas Les Vinyes, selected for us. We were able to form part of this wonderful project for a day.

We will continue to do things together as we fell completely in love with the place and with them.
